Lake Waramaug Private Reserve maple syrup is hand-crafted from trees overlooking Lake Waramaug in the Litchfield Hills of Connecticut. The syrup is organically made and is 100% natural. Our production process uses sustainable techniques to preserve and enhance the natural diversity of the land.

In addition to harvesting our all-natural syrup, we provide designated spaces for wildlife in our fields, and have altered the grassland mowing schedule to protect ground nesting birds, including bobolinks and meadowlarks. We encourage the growth of native plants, such as milkweed, to feed monarch butterflies and other pollinators. In coordination with a migratory science project in Kent, CT that has been aiding the declining purple martin population, we have established a purple martin sanctuary. We’ve installed bird nesting houses and successfully hatched new clutches of purple martins which were banded and will be tracked on their annual migrations back and forth to South America.

Our goals are to preserve and enhance the natural beauty of this land, to provide a sustainable habitat for native flora and fauna, and to produce natural food products that bring joy to people. We hope you enjoy our maple syrup.
